History & Foundation
Officially recognized as a university in May 2009 by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the institution has deep roots going back to its origins in 2002 as a private vocational school for industrial arts. The name "Dong A" reflects a vision of broader East Asian integration and educational excellence.
The university's trajectory was heavily shaped by its founder, Nguyen Thi Anh Dao. Overcoming early hardships, she achieved top academic honors and built the institution around a practical philosophy: integrating continuous study with hands-on work. Campus Expansion and Development
Following its elevation to university status, Dong A initiated extensive long-term growth plans. It currently operates from two major campuses in Da Nang:
- Central-City Campus: A premier, fully-equipped facility ranked among the best local private and public institutions.
- Hoa Hai Campus: Located 5 kilometers south of the city center, this massive campus covers 150,000 square meters.
To support future academic developments, the university is actively expanding its footprint with new land acquisitions in Quang Nam Province (10,600 m²) and Dak Lak Province (100,000 m²).
