Dai Nam University officially began operations following the Prime Minister's approval under Decision No. 1535/QD-TTg DHDN. Since then, November 14 has been celebrated as the university's founding anniversary.
The institution's journey began in June 2005, when Dr. Le Dac Son—then General Director of VPBank—joined hands with 12 scientists to develop the establishment proposal under the Vietnam Construction Association. Over the next two years, the founders worked tirelessly to meet all requirements necessary for government approval.
Their initial efforts focused on four major tasks to ensure a robust foundation for the university:
In June 2007, after completing all documentation and meeting stringent regulatory requirements, the Founding Council submitted the official application to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Government Office. Following nearly six months of comprehensive evaluation, the proposal was forwarded to the Prime Minister.
On November 14, 2007, the Prime Minister signed the decision officially establishing Dai Nam University. Concurrently, the Ministry of Education and Training issued its recognition decision, and Dr. Le Dac Son was appointed as the university's first Chairman of the Board of Directors, marking the beginning of the institution's commitment to high-quality education.
